- Leads, develops, and inspires a team of HR professionals.
- Understands employment laws and regulations in the region.
- Partners with the HR COEs to support the design and roll out corporate programs.
- Manages complex regional or global HR projects.
- Drives business success by coaching and advising teams on associate experience initiatives, such as Associate Experience Dashboard, Recognition programs, etc.
- In partnership with people leaders delivers Alcon’s core HR services and ensures an optimal associate experience.
- Ensures timely execution of all people-related processes in the region.
- Coaches business leaders on all HR-related topics (e.g. change management, talent management and career development, etc.).
- Accountable for driving high-quality talent bench, through selection process, equitable compensation practices and adequate talent development.
- Supports diagnostic intervention and problem resolution strategies to contribute HR point of view to l business issues.
- Responsible for Employee / Labor Relations & Legal Requirements (e.g. Works Councils (as applicable), and partners with global ER on complex ER matters)

- Business Insight – knows how the business works and how the organization makes money. - Leadership (Drives Engagement) – Structures the work so it aligns with people’s goals and motivators. Empowers others. Makes each person feel his/her contributions are important. Invites input and shares ownership and visibility. Shows a clear connection between people’s motivators and the organizational goals.
- Manages Ambiguity – deals comfortably with the uncertainty of change. Effectively handles risk. Can decide and act without the total picture. Is calm and productive, even when things are up in the air. Deals constructively with problems that do not have clear solutions or outcomes.
- Communicates Effectively – is effective in a variety of communication settings. Attentively listens to others. Adjust to fit the audience and the message. Provides timely and helpful information across the organization. Encourages the open expression of diverse ideas and opinions.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of years and education of directly related experience.
- 10+ years’ experience in in Human Resources, Business or related field including demonstrated people leadership.
- Proven ability to work on a matrix organization.
- Previous experience in working with Shared Services Center or similar business environment.
- Nice to have background in life science industry, not mandatory.
- High communication style especially on executive level.
- Ability to manage and influence stakeholders.
- Ability to work with remote people managers in several different locations.
- Change management attitude.
- Fluent English and Spanish.
