For our in-house brand Jan Dekker we are looking for a new colleague for the role of
Business Analyst in Amsterdam
About the role
Jan Dekker is an own brand of IMCD offering ingredients for Personal Care and Food. For our Jan Dekker brand, we are looking for a commercial-oriented Data Analyst. The ideal candidate will provide data-driven insights, analyse market trends, and help optimize strategies for distributing the Jan Dekker product portfolio. This role will work closely with our product managers, purchasing, supply chain and sales teams, to ensure that our ingredients meet market demand and customer needs.
Specific tasks and responsibilities for this role include:
- Analyses the current business performance against targets and budget;
- Suggests areas of improvement and actions to improve performance;
- Prepares and present sales reports and follows up on actions with the global commercial teams;
- Works with sales teams to meet performance metrics (KPIs);
- Researches market performance and trends to identify growth opportunities;
- Proposes strategies for entering new markets or expanding existing ones;
- Supports launch of new products by identifying target customers and proposing commercial strategy and targets;
- Supports the Jan Dekker day to day business operation (includes for example managing pricing requests and collecting forecasts).
We are looking for someone who can work data-driven and also has a strong commercial understanding. You have the drive to support the growth of the business based on data and analysis. You enjoy working with different teams in an international environment. The combination of data analysis and proactive advice is something that interests you.
Figures, KPIs, presentations, reports and analyses are no stranger to you. You have a healthy ambition to develop yourself and see this supporting role as a great opportunity to further develop yourself within a commercial organization.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business administration, Data Science or Economics;
- 2-4 years of experience as a Data Analyst or business development;
- Proficiency in data analytics software (Excel, Tableau);
- Strong understanding of statistical analysis and forecasting;
- Demonstrated understanding of pricing strategies and market analysis;
- Familiarity with the Beauty and Personal care industry is a must.

- Problem solving abilities;
- Attention to details and a high standard for accuracy;
- Commercial drive and communicatively skilled;
- Proactive self-starter;
- Teamplayer.
