JOB PURPOSE
- A key member of the Business Planning team within FN Business Planning function; supporting the creation of the Core Networks Plan Of Record (POR) & Budget, consolidating input from across the group and optimal material flow within Fixed NW
- Support Go Stop Go (GSG), PIB and CIC submissions and develop efficiencies in this process
- Realise Operational Excellence including SOX/ US GAAP compliancy within Material Flows for FN:
- For forward & reverse material flows (incl. correct post-decommissioning process)
- Deliver process KPI’s in Optimizing Material Flows with suppliers including close cooperation with Procurement/ Supply Chain
- Deliver process KPI’s in Optimizing Material Flows with 3rd parties
- Optimise reuse of materials to realise Capex Avoidance including enhancement of Product Life Cycle Management
- Support evolution of FN investments through established governance process.
- Deliver Core business planning services for Aorta and supporting operating countries
- Supporting brands like Virgin Media, Vodafone Ziggo, UPC and Telenet
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Responsible for production and maintenance of the Core Network team Budget and POR, consolidating input from across the team
- Responsible for monthly budget planning process, socialising performance versus budget, risks, challenges, and opportunities
- Key contact for Supply Chain & Finance for movement of equipment around the Network (across country and associated tax boundaries) and driving procurement opportunities with vendors
- Support NSO Core NW by acting as linking pin for projects including Finance Control, Business Control, Accounting, Indirect and Transfer Tax Pricing on projects such as Capri, Brexit, Correct Asset Registers
- Build and drive Core Network scaling investments through the established governance process
- Engage across multiple functions, both business and technical, to ensure services consistently match needs and expectations
- Ensures accurate delivery progress reporting is completed and communicated to relevant partners
- Collaborate with other strategy and planning functions adopting standard process approach.
- Budget management & financial control for central Core team
- Formulation of cases for new Core Network
- Secure funding for Core initiatives through Liberty Global governance processes
- Ensure PR’s and PO’s are timely raised to the Core suppliers
- Ongoing analysis of unit costs for Core infrastructure
- Timely submission of business reports on all platforms
- Proactively identify and implement initiatives which support Core activities
- Provide timely, accurate and complete reports in a harmonised manner
- Lead strong partnerships with country operations
- Support creation of the strategic and tactical Core Roadmap
- Continue to develop and maintain relationships across the Liberty Global teams to ensure the team meet business requirements and can support cross-functional activities
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Essential skills & abilities:
- Experienced operator with previous IT/Telecoms network finance planning & budgeting experience ideally gained within a large commercial environment
- Demonstrate strong influencing and persuading skills, encourage colleagues and teams to change established processes and achieve improvements and standard methodology
- Timeliness in all actions with quality consciousness towards services received and provide
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to form strong business relationships across multiple locations.
- Experience of analysing, assessing, and resolving sophisticated business and capital planning requirements, problems, and issues
- Experience collecting and analyzing data relating to business processes, operational efficiencies, and costs
- Well-rounded businessperson with critical thinking skills
- Strong Excel, presentation development and financial modelling skills
- Possesses leadership skills, with emphasis on interpersonal and negotiating skills and the ability to empower others
- Shows the ability to delegate effectively, whilst maintaining full management control
- Resilient and adaptable and able to work well under commercial and timeline pressure and thrive on being given challenges and responsibility
- Analytical skills to review, identify and develop improvement plans
- Ability to organize and manage multiple, and at times competing priorities
Desirable skills & abilities:
- Expert understanding of budget management, including the principles, methods, techniques, and tools for the preparation, and building of LRP’s, budgets and re-forecasting to minimise costs and ensure cost-effectiveness
- Analysis and presentations of vendor proposals, articulating impact on the budget and the plan
- Familiar with business proposals, including methods and techniques for preparing and presenting cases
- Team leadership with multiple field awareness including planning, engineering, and implementation
- Takes ownership for own learning and development skills to ensure they are up to date and maintain awareness of developments in the industry

PREFERRED EDUCATION/ QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or a related area, or equivalent work experience required
- Extensive experience in Finance and Capital planning in a Telco or Cable Operator environment
