More about the Antimicrobial Resistance Programme
The Antimicrobial Resistance Benchmark (AMR Benchmark) is the first independent analysis of pharmaceutical industry efforts to tackle drug resistance and ensure appropriate access to their products in low- and middle-income countries. It compares how a cross-section of the pharmaceutical companies is responding to the threat of drug-resistant infections. It measures the most active players in the antimicrobial space and includes large research-based companies, manufacturers of generic medicines and small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The main areas tracked are R&D for new antimicrobials, strategies for ensuring antibiotics are manufactured responsibly, and approaches to ensure antimicrobials are accessible in low- and middle-income countries and used appropriately.
