YOUR ROLE AS A TEAM LEADER
Together with your team, you will ensure that Decathlon's growth continues and that all orders reach our customers on time. You will be the engine behind a smoothly running logistics operation and have the opportunity to show your leadership talent in an environment that is constantly moving forward. Together with your team, you will ensure that our logistics processes are taken to the next level, constantly improving the service to our customers. And furthermore, you will have the following responsibilities:
Team management responsibilities

• You will directly manage a team of 10 to 25 employees.
• You will define with them the most relevant organization to delight our sports customers.
• You will recruit, manage, plan and develop your teammates as dedicated logistic professionals.
• You will motivate your team mates daily so you make sure they come happy to work.
• You mobilize your team by giving them meaning, motivation and skills to guarantee short and regular deadlines, lower costs and increase the quality of services.

Operational responsibilities

• Operations management: You will coordinate all logistics activities in our state-of-the-art warehouse.
• Optimisation: You develop and implement strategies to optimize our logistics processes and improve efficiency.
• Cooperation: You work closely with other departments to ensure that our logistics activities run seamlessly.
• Safety management: You make sure that you and every team member knows the safety procedures. And make sure the work space is safe to work.

Data driven - Forecasting

• Forecasting: You will plan your forecasting to make sure you reach the KPI's
• Managing staff cost: You will manage the (staff) costs for your department and make sure you reach the target productivity
• Results orientation: You monitor and analyze performance indicators to drive continuous improvements.

Duty manager:
We work with morning and afternoon shifts (and night shifts during peak seasons). During these shifts we will be needing someone who is responsible for the warehouse (all of the processes and all the employees). And we divide these shifts among our team leaders. This means you will be duty manager for an average of 10 shifts per months. During these shifts you will make sure that everything is going well in the warehouse, and for example you will be responsible for:

• Processes are up and running
• 90 -140 team mates per shift
• Communication with internal/external stakeholders during the shift
• Acting during accidents or evacuation

What do we ask from you?

At the moment we are searching for new colleagues who already have experience in logistics and in managing teams; we would like to welcome you to our warehouse in Tilburg.

• You love to do sports
• HBO work and thinking level
• You are familiar with working with daily, weekly and monthly forecasting.
• You have a background in logistics management, supply chain management or other 'management roles'
• A flexible team player, we believe that teamwork and flexibility is the key to success.
• Leadership is in your nature and you are enthusiastic about helping others grow.
• Open-minded, we embrace differences and we are curious about new ideas and perspectives.
• Problem solving skills, you're the one who tackles problems and communicates effortlessly
• You can speak and read the English language.

Good to know:

• You are available for 5 days (which includes one weekend day)
• During your workweek you are available to cover a morning or afternoon shift to be duty manager for our warehouse
• In high season you are available to cover a duty shift during night shifts

Our new automated distribution center in Tilburg is open since 2021 and we supply all our 21 stores. Additionally, customers from the Netherlands and parts of Belgium, France and Germany also receive their orders through our warehouse. In addition to the 250 employees, there are also at least as many robots on the road, making this Decathlon's most modern distribution center ever.
