Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi | About the Role
We are looking for one midwifery lecturers (0.8 FTE) to join our dynamic Kirikiriroa based teaching team for Te Kuratini o Waikato Bachelor of Midwifery programme. We have a commitment to excellence in our teaching and support of midwifery ākonga. We are interested in hearing from people with a strong desire to support work towards equitable outcomes for Māori and mana-enhancing Te Tiriti o Waitangi partnerships.The Academic Staff Member (Midwifery) is based in our Wintec | Te Pūkenga reporting to Team Manager – Midwifery Centre for Health and Social Practice the and will be responsible for:
- Support ākonga midwifery journey for and help to grow our future workforce
- Working with ākonga to support their learning by providing teaching within the degree programme and facilitating student problem solving, reflection on practice and skills development.
- Be an advocate for supporting and working towards equitable outcomes for Māori and mana-enhancing Te Tiriti o Waitangi partnerships
He kōrero mōu| About you
To be successful in this role you will have:- Be a Registered Midwife within Aotearoa, with at least five years’ experience who is passionate about midwifery education
- Have a strong understanding of Mātauranga Māori
- Have knowledge of Te Reo and Tikanga Māori
- Relevant teaching experience, professional development for an Adult Tertiary Teaching certificate can be provided
- Hold a Masters’ degree or be currently engaged in ongoing or committed to start post graduate education
- Research active, or willing to participate in research projects
- A passion for supporting ākonga to succeed
