We are seeking a keen and motivated team-player to join MPI's Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines (ACVM) Regulatory Programmes team.
If you have experience dealing with non-compliances and/or assessing and minimising risk, are comfortable dealing with ambiguity, enjoy investigating and actioning matters that are wrong, along with strong attention to detail, and established writing and administrative skills, this job could be for you.
Mō tō mātou rōpū - About the Team
The Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines (ACVM) Regulatory Programmes team is responsible for managing risks to animal welfare, human health, trade and biosecurity associated with the import, manufacturing, sale and use of agricultural compounds (including veterinary medicines). The team is primarily responsible for ACVM's Programme work including Good Manufacturing Practice audits, Adverse Event reporting, Compliance activities under the ACVM Act and the Restricted Veterinary Medicine Seller Programme.
Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the Role
In this full time position you will be warranted under the ACVM Act and be primarily responsible for supporting the Team Manager Regulatory Programmes and Senior Adviser in performing activities in the compliance space. You will be responsible for handling non-compliance events under the ACVM Act and with support from the wider team, you will act as a liaison point for ACVM and stakeholders, manage compliance events, perform risk assessments, and be involved in compliance audits as necessary.
In this primarily computer-based role you will also have joint co-ordination responsibility for our adverse event reporting programme and the ACVM Quality Management System, and participate in the development and maintenance of ACVM processes, standards and information requirements in relation to compliance and monitoring, and be involved in other ACVM Programme monitoring, reporting and verification activities.
You must be willing to work at the Wellington office where the team is based, although be happy to travel occasionally. Applicants must hold a current valid full driver's license.

Mōu - About You
We are seeking an enthusiastic team member who:
- has a relevant tertiary qualification in a discipline applicable to the ACVM environment, or compliance and investigation, or at least 5 years' experience in a similar role.
- ideally has an excellent working knowledge of the principles and interpretation of the ACVM Act and Regulations.
- shows strong investigative and problem solving skills.
- has excellent attention to detail and be happy doing administrative tasks and data entry.
- is comfortable dealing with ambiguous situations and is able to quickly adapt and think on the run.
- is confident and able to communicate well in a wide range of environments.
- has strong and established writing, investigative and critical thinking abilities.
- has experience or a strong interest in internal or external audits
