Āu Mahi | What You Will Do
We are looking for a new colleague to join a vibrant and well-established Māori education whānau. This role is a full-time and continuing (i.e., permanent) position. The successful applicant will contribute to teaching and research in education.
Mōu | Who You Are
Applicants must provide demonstrated evidence of successful teaching and research in areas that align with the needs of Te Kaupeka Ako | Faculty of Education, such as culturally responsive and sustainable teaching, learning, and research, Akoranga Māori, Māori Education, Mātauranga Māori, te reo acquisition, or teacher learning and development.
The person appointed to this position must meet the following selection criteria:
- A doctoral degree in Education or a related discipline
- A sustained research agenda, ideally aligned with equity-based educational practices with emphasis on Māori success
- Have research experience beyond doctoral study, evidenced by a programme of research publication
- Confidence in working with local iwi and rūnanga, together with an active commitment to upholding values, tikanga, kawa, and traditions as guided by Ngāi Tūāhuriri, the mana whenua
- Proficiency in te reo Māori
- Experience in teaching at a tertiary level
- The ability to integrate digital technologies into course design and teaching.
- New Zealand teacher registration
- Experience of teaching online
- Knowledge of how to embed Mātauranga Māori across curriculum areas.

This role sits within the Academic Staff, Associated Staff and Academic Support Staff Collective Agreement and the following salary scale applies:
The salary range for this position is: Associate Professor grade 6.01 ($148,098) - 6.04 ($159,640).
