We are looking for 2 full-time Checkout Operator and Shop Assistantswho enjoy working with the public and have a friendly, outgoing personality. As a team-oriented company, we seek two individuals who can be flexible with work hours. The ideal candidate is dedicated to providing exceptional customer service and displays a positive attitude when interacting with customers and employees.

Full Time Permanent Position with minimum 30 hours weekly.
Pay rate: $29.66 an hour
Objective of the role:

• Perform basic maths functions to collect payments and make change

· Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

• Scanning goods and ensuring pricing is accurate
• Operate registers, scanners, scales and POS terminals
• Issue receipts, refunds, change or tickets
• Redeem stamps and coupons
• Memorise product locations throughout the store and be able to direct customers or make suggestions
• Help to maximize sales through effective and proper procedures for stocking, rotating, and merchandising product, both on the sales floor and in the back rooms and coolers/freezer
• Handle exchanges and refunds in a quick, efficient manner
• Delivering outstanding customer service to all customers by listening and responding to customer queries in a confident and professional manner
• Assists Duty Manager with Stock taking, ordering, and inventory management
• Reporting customer complaints to Duty Manager
• Ensuring that trolleys and carrier bags are clean and placed in the right places
• Maintain accurate cash drawer
• Take a tally of the funds in the cash register when required during a shift and produce transaction reports
• Cross-selling products and introducing new/similar products in the store
• Perform all duties in accordance with company policies, procedures, and standards.
• Assist with daily, weekly, and monthly price changes by updating shelf tags and signs
• Handling merchandise returns and exchanges
• Keep the checkout area clean and orderly

Skills and Qualifications

• Basic PC knowledge & Mathematical skills and the ability to handle transactions quickly and accurately
• Either 6 months of experience or relevant qualification is preferred.
• Positive, helpful attitude toward customers, including the ability to speak clearly and convey information accurately
• Ability to process coupons, refunds, gift cards and checks
• Capable of lifting up to 20 kg, bending, twisting and standing for long periods of time
• Knowledge of register operation, including cash and credit cards
