This is a full-time (40 hours a week), fixed term role, based onsite at Auckland South Corrections Facility in Wiri

Make an impact at Serco
As an Control Room Operator (also called Operational Support Grade or OSG) at Auckland South Corrections Facility, you'll play a vital role in the daily operations of the prison. Your contributions will help reduce re-offending and ensure the smooth operation of control rooms, visitor processing, and operational communications.
As an OSG in the Justice & Immigration team, you’ll make a positive impact by:

Operating master and residential control rooms using cutting-edge monitoring technology
Overseeing vehicle movements and access at the Gatehouse
Ensuring the safe and secure induction of prisoners in the receiving office
Contributing to the smooth operation of stores and canteen services
Participating actively in team meetings to foster a positive, collaborative environment
Promoting and supporting the rehabilitation and reintegration of prisoners

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish rapport
Resilience, empathy, and a dedication to professional conduct
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
A responsible and ethical approach to work, with high personal integrity
Familiarity with Maori language, values, and customs (desirable)
Basic computer literacy and comfort with office technology
Excellent command of the English language
You must have legal rights to work in New Zealand (This role does not support a visa application)
