Access Community Health/Uru Ātea is a leading home-based healthcare and support provider. With over 100 years of history in Aotearoa, our nationwide team of over 3,500 Support Workers and Registered Health Professionals reach over 40,00 clients | tāngata in our community. We provide nursing, personal cares, rehabilitation, social support and household assistance to ensure our tāngata are safe, active, and independent in their own homes.

Based in our National Office in Petone, this role is wide and varied, where no two days will be the same, where you will be a valued part of our team and where your contributions will have a meaningful impact on our national workforce.
You will lead the provision of quality ER advice, guidance and support to our nationally distributed people leaders across all sectors of our business in close collaboration with two other ER Advisors.
In this role you will deepen and broaden your expertise across a variety of specialist functions from managing ER processes disciplinaries through to union engagement and bargaining. You will be known for your natural ability to develop trusted, effective working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders. You will also be known for your discretion and exemplary judgement, your ability to coach and develop those you interact with in a positive and enabling way.
Key Responsibilities include;
- ER Advice: Provide accurate advice on ER/HR issues, manage performance and disciplinary processes, develop ER policies, grievances and mediation.
- Secretariat for Union Engagement: Support union engagement, manage administrative systems, and provide bargaining support.
- Projects: provide trusted advice, direction and support for key business projects aimed at supporting and enabling the organisation e.g. Diversity, Equity Inclusion and Belonging (DEI & B).
- Policy Development and Guidance: Update policies, develop process maps and best practice guides in alignment with current laws and legislative changes.
You will have;
- 2-3 years+ experience in ER or Employment Law
- a sound understanding of NZ employment legislation and best practice employment practice
- experience with the provision of high-quality secretariat coordination and support
- experience with drafting advice, legal submissions, development of policy, and project reporting
- exceptional organisational and written communication skills
- an ability to work collaboratively and independently.
