Employment Co-Ordinator - Fulltime - fixed term / secondment (to 30th June 2025)

About the role The Employment Coordinator supports clients with health conditions, illness or disabilities to access support, training and employment opportunities, enabling them to become independent. This role actively markets clients with health conditions, illness or disabilities to employers, identifying and matching clients to suitable vacancies or profiling direct to suitable employers, supporting them to make career choices, stay employed and become independent with an emphasis on what a client can do, not their health or disability status. As an Employment Coordinator you work collaboratively to understand client skills, abilities, needs and how their capabilities can be enhanced by MSD, other agencies and employers i.e. work placement with support, skill training and work experience.
A skilled relationship builder, you understand peoples' needs and tailor your service approach accordingly. You assist clients with CV development and interview preparation, undertaking pre-employment checks, and providing clients with career and personal guidance, advice, mentoring and referring to agency providers where appropriate. You build work readiness by proactively identify and address barriers to employment for people with health conditions and disabilities, and facilitating preventative support. A fast-paced, pressured environment is where you thrive, and you enjoy using your tenacity and initiative to find solutions and achieve goals. A full clean driver's licence and the ability to travel around the King Country region as required are essential for this role. This position is based in the Taumarunui office.

To be considered for this role you have:
  • Be a highly motivated self-starter who is target and goal driven
  • Understand what makes a great job match for both employers and employees
  • Relevant experience or knowledge of working within the health and disability sector / recruitment industry
  • Knowledge of current developments and trends in the labour market, including challenges and issues faced by people with health or disabilities in employment
  • The ability to interpret and analyse data to identify trends in health condition, injury and disability services and employment
  • Willingness to travel to meet job requirements.
  • Have excellent facilitation skills with the ability to engage an audience to influence positive change
  • Able to work effectively as part of a wider team
  • Strong administration and organisational skills
  • Work alongside clients and employers from diverse backgrounds
  • Be flexible, solutions focused and customer-centric
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Be tenacious, professional and driven to overcome roadblocks
  • Enjoy building relationships and making new connections
  • Be able to travel around the region to meet employers as required
