Employment Liaison Advisor - Hawkes Bay

Fixed term/secondment opportunity through to 27th June 2025 - Based in Napier
- Utilise your employment and marketing skills to promote our Connected service
- Help build the Connected brand as a key resource for employment, education and training in New Zealand

In response to the economic environment MSD is leading this cross-agency work to help people access support and see the full range of assistance that is available.
Our Connected service will help a wide range of New Zealanders find the advice and support they need, including businesses, people looking for help to find a job or who are worried about keeping the one they have, and those looking for education and training advice and opportunities.
About you
For these face-to-face roles, we are looking for energetic professionals to proactively manage the relationships between employers, providers, government agencies and MSD regional teams.
As an Advisor, you will be the key entry point into the service and provide support as Connected is established and promoted across New Zealand.
You will share knowledge about the many employment, education and training initiatives available through the Connected service. This includes providing advice and assistance to employers regarding training pathways, employee retention, and connecting people looking for work with suitable vacancies and other opportunities.
Working closely with other Connected Staff, including Work Brokers, you will seek to understand and anticipate need of employers and other stakeholders, identifying opportunities where Connected can assist. Our teams are service focused and work towards creating meaningful and sustainable employment outcomes for clients. To be successful in the role, you will need to have strong influencing skills, consider yourself an excellent network builder and the have ability to build robust partnerships.
You have a customer-centric approach to your work and can confidently engage with people utilising your well-developed interpersonal skills.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational and planning skills
- Flexible, pragmatic and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Can manage effective collegial relationships across several regional service centres
- A proven record in establishing, building and maintaining effective relationships and networks
- An understanding of the challenges facing employers and job seekers, displaying situational awareness as political and economic landscape changes.

Salary range: $89,622.00 - $108,622.00
