Family Harm Support Worker

Are you passionate about supporting whānau and creating lasting change? As our Family Harm Support Worker (Kaiārahi – Whānau Resilience), you will work directly with whānau who are either victims of family harm or those who are ready to change harmful behaviors. This role is essential to fostering safety, resilience, and lasting transformation for families, making a real impact on the community.
In this role, you will:
- Empower whānau to achieve safety and wellbeing
- Collaborate with community networks to provide comprehensive support
- Facilitate referrals and help whānau navigate access to essential services
- Work alongside a committed team to deliver integrated, culturally appropriate services aligned with Te Whānau o Waipareira’s kaupapa
- Experience in family harm support or whānau advocacy (3-5 years)
- A strong commitment to Te Reo me ngā Tikanga Māori
- Proven knowledge of community networks within Waitākere
- A proactive, compassionate approach with strong communication skills
