Te Whānau o Waipareira is seeking a dedicated Clinical Practitioner to join our Te Aka Matua service. This role is integral to delivering holistic, strength-based mental wellness services to whānau experiencing mild to moderate distress. You will support the delivery of our kaupapa Māori wellness services, ensuring that whānau receive culturally appropriate and effective care. Working closely within a Te Ao Māori framework, you will perform core clinical duties, including risk assessments and therapeutic interventions, while seamlessly connecting whānau to additional support services when needed.
You will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to coordinate assessments, care, and interventions, ensuring the best health outcomes for whānau. Your role will also involve supporting and facilitating various forms of therapy, such as whānau systems therapy, behavioural therapy, and sensory modulation therapy, all within a kaupapa Māori environment.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Lead and deliver Kaupapa Māori wellness services tailored to whānau needs.
- Conduct clinical assessments, therapeutic interventions, and risk management for whānau experiencing mild to moderate distress.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure integrated care.
- Manage and maintain whānau case documentation to ensure continuity of care.
- Support project activities within Te Aka Matua and foster strong relationships with whānau Māori and mainstream health organisations.
- Full registration under the Health Practitioner Competence Assurance (HPCA) Act 2003, or as an Alcohol, Drug, and/or Gambling Practitioner with DAPAANZ membership, or as a Social Worker.
- An understanding of Te Ao Māori, tikanga, and kaupapa Māori therapeutic approaches.
- Demonstrated experience in mental health and addiction support, ideally within a Māori-focused service.
- Strong interpersonal and analytical skills to provide client-centered care and effective collaboration within a team environment.
- A full, clean NZ driver’s license.
