Ko tāu nā i tēnei tūranga - What you’ll bring to the role:

You will:

• Guide Fire and Emergency's work with Māori (tangata whenua) in your region.
• Develop culturally appropriate fire safety strategies for Māori communities.
• Foster and manage strong relationships with iwi, hapū, whānau, and other Māori stakeholders.
• Provide expert advice on incorporating tikanga Māori into fire safety initiatives.

You are a proven leader with:

• Deep expertise in tikanga Māori and cultural protocols.
• Experience working collaboratively with Māori communities.
• Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills.
• Fluency in te reo Māori (or actively seeking fluency).
