We are on an active search for dedicated and passionate Geriatricians to join our client's dynamic healthcare service. This is a unique opportunity to expand your professional horizons while making a significant impact on patient lives in New Zealand.
What will you be doing in this role?

We are seeking dedicated Geriatricians who can fulfil the following responsibilities:

  • Diagnosing and treating illnesses: As a Geriatrician, you would be responsible for diagnosing and treating a variety of illnesses prevalent in older adults.
  • Referring patients to specialists: If necessary, you would refer patients to other medical specialists for further diagnosis or treatment.
  • Monitoring the side-effects of medication: You would keep track of the side-effects of medications prescribed to your patients.
  • Assessing the risks of medications: You would assess the potential risks associated with medications, especially since older adults may react differently to drugs.
  • Paying attention to the mental and physical health of patients: You would monitor both the mental and physical health of your patients, providing comprehensive care.
  • Providing medical and lifestyle advice: You would provide advice on medical treatments and lifestyle changes that can improve the patient's overall health.
  • Providing robust, well-informed preventative treatment: As a Geriatrician, you would propose resource-specific treatment regimens.
  • Diagnosing physiological anomalies: You would be skilled in diagnosing both innocuous and harmful physiological anomalies.
  • Pinpointing assistive gadgets: You would recommend assistive devices that can alleviate pressing health-related symptoms.
  • Working in a multidisciplinary team: As a Geriatrician, you would often work as part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with other medical colleagues, including GPs and other hospital doctors, as well as experts in the community such as social workers.
  • Providing rehabilitation after illness: You would provide rehabilitation services to your patients after an illness and need a comprehensive knowledge of physical treatments, adaptations, and aids.
What are the requirements for this role?
You will need to be a registered Geriatrician and have experience working in Geriatrics.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Meet the English Language requirements set out by the New Zealand Medical Board.
  • Meet the requirements of one of the New Zealand Doctor registration pathways.

  • Salary: Competitive full-time salary in line with New Zealand's national salary agreement steps, guided by the length of your experience and skills.
  • Accommodation: Settle in without a worry as 4 weeks short-term accommodation is provided for you upon your arrival in NZ, up to $10,000.
  • Car Hire: Up to 4 weeks of rental care hire/provision is provided up to $5,000.
  • Flight & Luggage Arrangements: One-way economy travel fare for yourself, your partner and children under the age of 19. If your family don't want to travel immediately, this can be claimed up to 6 months after starting work in NZ.
  • Shipping of Household Goods: Maximum of $5000 from Australia/Pacific, or up to $10,000 if from further afield.
  • Airport Transfers: Airport transfer to accommodation on arrival up to a cost of $300.
  • Professional Body Registration Assistance: We'll guide you through the process of registering with the New Zealand Professional Body.
  • Visa Application Support: Navigating visa applications can be complex, but our team is here to provide all the help you need.
  • IELTS/OET Reimbursement (if applicable): If required, we'll reimburse the cost of your IELTS or OET examination.
