He kōrero mō mātau | About us
We’re an innovative energy and digital solutions company, running a portfolio of businesses delivering energy, technology and communication services to more than 620,000 homes and commercial customers across New Zealand. We’re leading the way in creating a new energy future through our Symphony strategy, which puts customers at the heart of the energy system.
We’ve formed strategic global alliances to develop digital platforms to assist with the energy transition to electrification.
At its core, our over-arching business strategy is about creating an energy future for our customers that is future-built – delivering safer, cleaner, more reliable and affordable energy solutions. Our focus is on being proactive, through leading and creating, rather than waiting for the future to arrive.
Watch this video to learn more about the new energy future as we see it.

Vector is looking for enthusiastic deep thinkers who enjoy investigating complex energy challenges. We have an opening for a graduate policy analyst to work on varied opportunities across our Policy, Insights, Regulatory and Sustainability business unit.
In a typical day, you’ll research and develop strategies regarding different policies and regulations. You’ll work with different functions providing thought-leadership and developing Vector’s views about topical issues, and will report directly into the General Manager of Public Policy and the General Manager of Sustainability.

Te hunga e kimihia ana e mātau | Who we are looking for
  • You’re a strategic thinker who can synthesise local and international research to formulate an informed opinion
  • You have a keen interest in how local and international policy can shape energy sector decarbonisation, and can communicate ideas clearly and concisely
  • You’ll have a specific interest in the importance of the energy sector in driving climate change outcomes for New Zealand
  • Your field of study could be diverse – examples include law, policy, economics or science
  • You enjoy collaborating with a wide range of people both within Vector and externally.
Please note that this role can be based in Auckland (Vector’s headquarters) or in our Wellington office. Regular travel will be part of this role. While it’s a hybrid role, you will be required and encouraged to be in the office most days.
