Do you want to prevent crime and harm, and contribute to making New Zealand (NZ) the safest country? As an intelligence professional in the NZ Police this will be your focus every day.

The International Services Group supports New Zealand’s foreign policy objectives, further our international law enforcement interests, and contributes to disaster and emergency response, and security liaison. INTERPOL is a key workgroup within ISG to enable these functions.

To support the delivery of these outcomes the Intelligence Supervisor – INTERPOL will help provide expertise and guidance in across the tactical, operational, and strategic intelligence products, and support decision makers in addressing complex challenges within the workgroup including Europol and the Police Liaison Officer Network.

Key Accountabilities:
Lead the day-to-day activities of the team, overseeing the development and delivery of intelligence products to support organisational decision making.

Partnerships / Stakeholders – Able to establish and maintain effective strategic relationships with key Government departments, the Australian Border Force and other international agencies at an appropriate level.

Create and lead a high performing team.

Planning and Prioritising – Able to manage team resources and administrative requirements.

Continuous Improvement - Able to foster and encourage innovative and diverse approaches that contribute to enhancing the Returning Deportee Programme.

Provide technical guidance in Intelligence analysis tools/methodologies.

To be eligible for the Police National Headquarters based roles, you must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET national security clearance.

The minimum criteria for this level of national security clearance is:

NZ Citizen who has resided continuously in NZ for the last 10 years, or:

A Permanent Resident who has resided continuously in NZ for the last 10 years, or

A citizen of or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last 10 years : Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, or United States of America, and has a background that can be verified by the NZSIS.

Utu ā-tau | Salary

This position is covered by a collective agreement and salary will commence between $110,425.00 and $117,014.00 dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
