Pertronic Industries designs and manufactures advanced fire detection equipment in its Wellington region facility. We also have sales and distribution offices in Auckland, Christchurch, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Phoenix (USA).
We are a team of approximately 164 people with over 130 people based in the Lower Hutt head office facility. This office is only 100m away from the Wingate train station. We manufacture many different products and are experiencing significant growth in our domestic and overseas markets.

About the role
This role requires an experienced Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) machine operator to ensure accurate testing and correction of any possible defects of printed circuit boards. The role includes the following:
· Set up and safely operate Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) machines and associated material handling equipment.
· Monitoring all production, inspection, and test equipment and taking operator appropriate actions when equipment issues arise to minimize equipment downtime.
· Escalating equipment or material related issues to Engineering and/or Production Supervisors quickly for resolution.
· Effective usage and operator appropriate troubleshooting of all de-stacker conveyors, conveyors, shuttle conveyors, board flippers, etc.
· Reduce false-positive errors to improve line autonomy
· Proper physical segregation and repair or disposition of non-conforming materials.
· Follow all Company Safety and ESD Program requirements.
· Increase first time pass rate post AOI will be a measurement of success.
· Conduct automated testing of assembled printed circuit boards.
· Retest the repaired boards to ensure all defects have been resolved.
· Make necessary adjustments to the AOI program based on inspection results to reduce false-positive errors and improve accuracy and reliability.
· Provide detailed reports on test results and defect analysis to stakeholders.
· Ensure proper physical segregation and repair or disposition of non-conforming materials.
· Follow all company safety and ESD program requirements.
Education and Experience
Ideally the successful candidate will have:
· Ideally candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering or related field or a postgraduate diploma in information technology.
· At least 3 years work experience
· Experience as a machine operator
· 6 months experience in electronics manufacturing
· Previous AOI (SAKI) machine operator preferred

This is a full time (40) hours per week position. The hourly rate for this role will range between $29.66 and $31.00 per hour depending on experience and qualifications.
