This is an exciting opportunity to influence a positive culture change within our mental health services. As our Māori Equity Lead you will be part of a new, innovative and dynamic team that will lead the integration of equity principles and Te Tiriti o Waitangi values, into the development and delivery of services. Acknowledging that partnership and collaboration must be at its foundation for success.
Mō tō mātou rōpū - About our team
Equity is everyone - s responsibility across Te Whatu Ora, MHAIDS. The Equity Māori Lead role is part of the Māori Leader Group under MHAIDS Director, Māori. The purpose of the Equity Lead, is to provide stewardship and advice to the Senior Leaders in the MHAIDS Tamariki and Rangatahi sector.
Moū - About you
You will have a proven ability to build constructive relationships across health community networks and providers, with strong connections at service delivery level. You will be able to demonstrate awareness of equity issues and have an understanding of Tikanga Māori. An understanding of the significance of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and how to apply Te Tiriti principles in a meaningful way is key to succeeding in this role.
Other key skills and experience we are looking for:
- Experience with Te Reo Māori
- A full New Zealand drivers license
- A tertiary qualifcation and significant work experience in a related field
- Experience in providing equity input and advice at an operational and service delivery level with ability to plan and deliver effective analysis of health inequities
