National Quality and Patient Safety Manager - Clinical Leadership

Join the Quality and Patient Safety team, within the Office of Chief Clinical Officer (OCCO), National Clinical Leadership Directorate, as National Quality and Patient Safety Manager. Full time permanent opportunity to lead all Quality and Patient Safety systems and processes at a national level. Working with the Regional Senior Quality and Patient Safety Advisors and National Clinical Governance Manager within OCCO to ensure the delivery of safe, high quality patient care to achieve Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora goals. The National Quality and Patient Safety Manager will assist in formulating and supporting our future direction whilst ensuring quality of care and patient safety along with the National Clinical Governance Group and other leadership groups

Our preferred candidate comes with senior leadership experience within the health sector. Demonstrates an understating of risk management, clinical governance and patient safety. You can hit the ground running. You can establish and maintain positive working relationships with people at all levels within the public and private sectors.
Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience
- Relevant tertiary qualification at postgraduate level e.g. Health, Risk Management, Quality and Patient Safety
- Demonstrated senior leadership experience in the health sector in Quality and Patient Safety
- Knowledge of New Zealand Health legislation
- Understanding of risk management
- Understanding of clinical governance
- A strong understanding of the principles of health care quality including key international trends and a commitment to improving the quality and safety of services for New Zealanders
- A commitment to being a good Te Tiriti partner in all your actions. This includes an understanding of the significance of and obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and the ability to apply Te Tiriti principles in a meaningful way in this role
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
