He Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the Role
Ko te Pouako Tapuhi Kaupapa Māori he matanga ki runga i te waka ō Toi. Nō ngā tohutohu o ngā rangatira, o te kaiurungi, ka arahi te pouako i ngā kaumoana kia tika te hoe. Ka pono te pouako i te Tirohanga Whānui o te kaiurungi, ki a Toi Ora. E marama ana ia, ka tika ngā mahi a ngā kaumoana, ka tika te rere. Kātahi ka tutuki i ngā moemoea o ngā whānau me ngā urihaumate, ka ea i ō rātou Toi Ora.
In partnership with the Nurse Co-ordinator NETP and the Pou Haumanu, the Nurse Educator - NETP will promote kaupapa Māori and mātauranga Māori based nursing education practices through Māori pedagogies. The Nurse Educator - NETP will draw on and apply a range of other knowledge and skills including evidence-based nursing practice, contemporary nursing education theory and practice. They will become a recognised expert in He Pou Oranga Tangata Whenua. The Nurse Educator - NETP will specifically work with Māori new graduate nurses to optimize their experience of the NETP programme and will proactively support all Registered Nurse New Graduates to Practice supportive first year of practice programme (NETP).
He korero mōu - About You
We are looking for someone who is passionate and committed to Māori health, Māori nursing and education. You will embody manaakitanga in your professional approach which underpins your relationships with Māori nurses, Māori providers, Tauranga Moana whānau, hapū and iwi. You will have well developed capability in Matauranga Māori including Māori pedagogies that inform the unique teaching and learning need for Māori.
To be successful in this position, you will also have varied clinical nursing experience including in acute and ideally primary care also. You will be competent in Te Reo o Nga tikanga Māori.
This position may be based in Tauranga or Whakatane and will require regular travel to either site and also to primary care providers across the region.
