Ko te kaupapa | About the role

An exciting opportunity exists for a Registered Nurse to be part of the Outpatient Department (OPD).
This position will work with our dedicated Outpatient Department team and will be working primarily alongside with Ophthalmology services. Then a great opportunity to be exposed in different clinical specialities and be able to work in a supportive team environment, when the need arises.
The OPD runs every Monday to Friday from 8:00AM to 4:30PM. However, you will be required to work on rostered shifts depending on the clinical needs ie potential late start with late finish or early start with early finish.
To be successful in this role you will need to be a motivated and dedicated registered nurse who has a strong focus on ophthalmology health and is experienced with working within a multidisciplinary team.
You will preferably have:
  • A relevant post-graduate experience with a minimum of 3 years consolidated practice.
  • A current Proficient PDRP or committed to working towards.
  • High interest in working to ophthalmology specialty and is open to other clinical specialties in OPD
  • Strong knowledge and ophthalmology clinical experience is an advantage.
  • Intravitreal injection skill is an advantage.
  • A customer and team-focused approach to patient care.
  • High attention and detail pertaining to patient-focused care, equity in delivery of care, patient health education, process, policy, guidelines, communication, and documentation.
  • Be a critical thinker.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver optimal patient care.
  • Great flexibility and adaptability even on short notice.
  • The ability to support other areas within the hospital if required.

The essential skills and knowledge requirements are embedded within the scope of the New Zealand Nursing Council Te Kaunihera Tapuhi o Aotearoa and you must hold a current Annual Practicing Certificate.
