The role

We are currently seeking a Registered Nurse to join the General Ward / Emergency Dept at Bay of Islands Hospital in Kawakawa. The main function of the role is to utilise professional knowledge and skill to provide a holistic approach to nursing care that is safe and of the highest quality possible.

The Bay of Islands Hospital is located in Kawakawa and provides care to the people of the Bay of Islands and the Mid North.

The 20-bed hospital provides comprehensive medical and paediatric services with all the supporting services and also provides a substantial community health service. This role is based in the General Ward and Emergency Dept.

This is a permanent full-time position, working 40 hours per week on a shift roster between Monday – Sunday.

Key requirements

• Registered Nurse with a current Annual Practising Certificate
• Recent clinical experience ideally in a rural setting and with three years experience
• To have people orientated interests and demonstrated ability to practice in a culturally safe manner
• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
• Good communication skills
• Adaptability, flexibility to work in an unpredictable busy environment

Whilst not essential, previous Emergency Nursing experience and a Postgraduate is desirable.
