The Refugee Quota Programme team within RMS delivers refugee resettlement programmes for New Zealand. A new team of Residential Services Officers has recently been established within the Refugee Quota Programme to provide high quality front-facing services at Te Āhuru Mōwai o Aotearoa.
You will contribute to the operations of Te Āhuru Mōwai o Aotearoa by acting as the key point of contact for quota refugees and asylum seekers who are accommodated at the centre, from their arrival and through the duration of their stay. You will also act as a key point of contact for visitors and service providers requiring access to the centre.
You will participate in planning and organising the day-to-day operations at Te Āhuru Mōwai o Aotearoa, and provide quality services relating to the care, wellbeing and rights of refugees and asylum seekers. You will liaise with other service providers to maximise efficiency and ensure the smooth running of the refugee orientation programme.
The team operates on a 24/7 basis including rostered weekends. Residential Services Officers work on rostered shifts, 4 days on, 3 days off 10hrs per day with rotation every 3 months.
