FULL TIME

Te Haeata/The Opportunity
The roles of the Principal and Senior Advisors Work Programme Management are two newly established roles, so they afford the opportunity for you to bring your experience and values to set strategy and direction for this function and further enhance the performance of our team.
The work programme management function within the team provides the intellectual leadership to enable the development and delivery of high-quality analysis, advice, and alignment of key reporting to senior leaders across the group, broader Ministry and to ministers.
Ko ake mahi - What you will do
These are ‘doing' roles that will suit someone who isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in when required. You will have a highly collaborative approach that enables you to work across the Ministry to ensure that insights and information gained from data are easily accessible, evidenced, and can support the creation of dashboards that demonstrate how our strategic stewardship objectives are being delivered.
You will demonstrate a strong business performance perspective, success in the efficient and effective creation and use of data and information assets, a deep understanding of the value they bring to an organisation as well as highly developed analytical skills to add insights and translate these into initiatives that provide senior leaders the information required to make decisions.
You will be comfortable in supporting broader capability development initiatives and will be able to communicate complex insights effectively, both in written reports and in person. You will be seen as highly collaborative and collegial, someone who is brought into a range of areas across the group as your ability to understand root cause issues and provide solutions is highly valued.
Ō pūkenga/Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Proven experience in the understanding of data sourcing, creation of dynamic reporting and the ability to ‘read' across the group to provide relevant report insights.
- Demonstrated experience in the identification, evaluation, and adoption of data analytics capabilities to transform group performance with evidence-based performance measures.
- Excellent attention to detail, clear plain language written and oral communication, delivering requirements through practical technical documentation and business case contribution.
- Comfort in challenging current thinking and asking good questions to understand processes, issues, and barriers.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to use different interpersonal styles and communication techniques, expectations management, and targeted influencing of senior leaders and other stakeholders to gain cooperation, support, effect change, and inspire others.
