Either relevant qualification Diploma NZQF qualification, or at least three year relevant work experience (ANZSCO SKILL LEVEL 2) especially in South Indian Cuisine.
A well-established takeaway, which recently has been taken over a new management.
We currently after: two South Indian chefs: Tandoori chef and Curry chefs, positions available for the right people and can offer an immediate start with a full-time hour
We offer: $29.66-$30 per hour.
All overtime is paid at the ordinary pay rate.
Wages are paid fortnightly in a nominated account.
Full time and permanent 30 hours-31 hours per week
Opening hours 12- 2 PM Lunch
5 pm – 9 pm Dinner or as flexibly required.
Tandoori chef and Curry chef for South Indian cuisine
Duties:
- able to prepare South Indian dishes and season a range of specialist Indian dishes, including biryani, naan, rumali roti.
- experience in Dum briyani, Idli, Vada, Dosa, Uttapam for at least one year.
- South Indian food curries and tandoori dishes, marination of chicken or other ethnic meat or vegetarian or vegan dishes on the tandoor.
- tandoori dishes: , starters: chicken kabab, chicken tikka, sheek kebab etc., and curry dishes: Veg Corma, Buttar chicken, Beef Roshan Josh and chicken
- planning menus, estimating food and labor costs, and ordering food supplies;
- monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation;
- discussing food preparation issues with managers, dietitians, and kitchen and waiting staff;
- demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures;
- preparing and cooking food;
- explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations;
- may select and train staff;
- may freeze and preserve foods.
- health and safety compliance;
- food safety compliance as per council / relevant New Zealand legislative guidelines and laws.
- Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills, and other cooking equipment

- CITIZENSHIP OF NEW ZEALAND , RESIDENT OR ON AN OPEN WORK VISA CAN APPLY IF THEY ARE QUALIFIED WITH either Diploma or more NZQF relevant qualification OR Three-years RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE (ANZSCO LEVEL 2).
