Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora is the Government organisation that provides publicly funded universal health care in Aotearoa New Zealand.

South Canterbury is responsible for the delivery of services throughout the South Canterbury region and Timaru Hospital (131 beds) serves a district population of approximately 50,000 based in a General Hospital Facility, (which has just commenced a significant refurbishment programme), providing our local community with such critical 24/7 services as ED, ICU/CCU, General, Orthopaedic, & ENT Surgery, O&G, Psychiatry, Geriatrics, Oncology & Palliative Care, Internal Medicine and Paediatrics. https://www.scdhb.health.nz/info-for-you/timaru-hospital
