Speech-language Therapy Critical Care Educator

- This is an exciting opportunity to work as Speech-language Therapy Critical Care Educator – Te Toka Tumai
- Permanent, part time role (0.5fte /20 hours a week)
An exciting opportunity for a Speech-language Therapy Critical Care Educator has been made available. This role will be responsible for developing and overseeing education and coaching within adult Speech-language Therapy critical care services across the Northern Region and provide “on the job training”, support and coaching for the Speech-language Therapy, Allied Health and the wider Critical Care workforce. It is expected that this role will work in close collaboration with the other Allied Health Critical Care Educators and the Principal Allied Health Critical Care Educator across the region.
This Speech-language Therapy Educator role will be based at Te Toka Tumai at Auckland City Hospital and provide support across all adult critical care units in the Northern Region. This role will be supported by the Clinical Lead.
The Principal Educator role within the regional group of Allied Health Critical Care Educators will lead the coordination and collaboration across the interdisciplinary team, critical care units and region.
Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills
- Registered member of the New Zealand Speech-Language Therapists’ Association (NZSTA) with current Annual Practicing Certificate
- Minimum of Five (5) years post-graduate experience, working within a critical care service
- Working towards NZSTA Level 5 FEES & Tracheostomy competency
- Clinical Educational Experience
- A commitment to achieving equitable outcomes for Māori
- Demonstrate an understanding of the significance of and obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi, including how to apply Te Tiriti principles in a meaningful way in your role
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Effective time management, flexibility and organisation skills

The remuneration for this position is covered by a collective agreement (PSA Allied, Public Health and Technical MECA)
Salary Range: Step DB 2 $116,500 to DC3 $124,000 (Depending on experience)
