Team Leader Collection Advisory Services

Auckland Council Libraries is seeking a Team Leader for our Collection Advisory Services team. This is a key leadership role at Auckland Council Libraries with responsibility for leading a team of experts in regional collection management advisory for the entire library network.
He angitūtanga: The opportunity
The Collection Advisory Services team provides expert advice to library staff on the effective management of the collections at Auckland Council Libraries, with a focus on enhancing customer experience and satisfaction with our collections.
As well as guiding and supporting the team, the Team Leader provides shared leadership for the management, refinement and direction of relevant collection management systems and tools. In this role you will be responsible for managing the Auckland Libraries off-site collection overflow facility, and ensuring that the team builds and maintains strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You will develop, implement and maintain regional collection management plans, policies and processes.
This is an exciting time for the team as they adapt their way of working following the recent implementation of a transformative collection management tool (the Intelligent Material Management System).
This is a permanent, full-time position working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (with flexible working arrangements available). The role is based at Auckland Central Library, however you will be required to travel to libraries right across the Auckland region.

- Tertiary qualification to NZQA Level 7 in library studies
- 7+ years’ experience in a professional library role, with 5+ years in collection services in a public library or equivalent environment
- Proven experience in team leadership and staff development
- In-depth knowledge of collection management best practice and related work processes.
