Territory Manager

As a Territory Manager based in our Mount Wellington Office, you will report to the National Sales Manager, Refinish. You will be responsible to increase sales and deliver maximum profitability by creating value for PPG Distributors, their end-user customers, and Direct OEM accounts in your geographical region.

You will also support the New Zealand Refinish business by maximizing the usage of PPG Products in assigned areas by working closely with Distributor Technical personnel, Bodyshop or Facility owners/staff, and other PPG team members to share and offer advice on application techniques, product selection, and process improvement.


Responsibilities
  • Contribute to ensuring that PPG meets EH&S regulations by adhering to the guidelines and procedures for safe work practices and educating customers in the safe use of all PPG products.
  • Ensure profitability of the business by achieving monthly sales targets and growing market share.
  • Monitor the performance of Distributors and Direct accounts against targets and secure new business opportunities for PPG products and services with new and existing customers.
  • Ensure the territory is effectively serviced by Distributors whilst working closely with them to achieve sales targets and new Business wins.
  • Contribute to customer satisfaction by providing backup and support to customers/ users of PPG Refinish products and services.
  • Ensure feedback and results of demonstrations/ trials are passed on to the relevant Manager.
  • Ensure that PPG is regarded as an expert and market leader in the OEM and Refinish field by continuing to develop and maintain a comprehensive technical and practical knowledge of application techniques and equipment relevant to the total PPG product range and competitor product ranges.
  • Undertake training activities for distributors and staff ensuring “Best practice” is the template.
  • Sales reporting and competitor feedback as required.
  • Any duties as required from time to time.
  • Manage all relevant expense areas and ensure approvals are sought wherever required.

Qualifications
  • Trade qualification in the Refinish industry is highly desirable.
  • Practical knowledge and use of PPG products are desirable but not a prerequisite.
  • Strong planning, time management, and organizational skills
  • Previous experience with competitor products would be an advantage.
  • Demonstrated sales experience.
  • Strong customer focus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
