Role Overview:
As a Farm Equipment Operator Intern, you will participate in a rigorous hands-on technical training program where you will learn to operate, maintain, and repair a wide variety of farm machinery, including tractors, combine harvesters, sprayers, bulldozers, and more. You’ll work under the guidance of experienced operators and mechanics to develop the practical skills necessary for large-scale farming operations.
Scope of Work and Responsibilities:

• Operate Farm Equipment: Learn to operate tractors and other farm equipment with attached implements such as ploughs, harrows, seed drills, sprayers, and graders.
• Heavy-Duty Equipment: Gain experience operating heavy machinery like bulldozers, scrapers, and combine harvesters, as well as engines for water pumping and grain grinding.
• Routine Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance such as fixing brakes, replacing tires, and lubricating moving parts on farm vehicles.
• Machinery Troubleshooting: Assist in troubleshooting, servicing, and repairing agricultural machinery, and report mechanical issues to supervisors.
• Record Keeping: Record meter readings at the start of each shift, maintain proper documentation of repairs and maintenance, and keep records of equipment operations.
• Field Operations: Operate equipment to apply pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers to crops, irrigate fields, and assist with loading and unloading crops and materials.
• Assist with Construction Equipment: Learn to operate dump trucks, front-end loaders, graders, and other earth-moving equipment for various farm tasks.
• Post-Harvest Operations: Assist with post-harvest tasks such as ginning, shelling, husking, and threshing of grains.
• Collaborate with Management: Communicate with supervisors regarding machinery maintenance, progress of crops, and other key tasks.
• Animal Care: Assist with feeding and watering livestock when necessary.
• Safety and Compliance: Operate all equipment in a safe manner, following established safety protocols.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Education: Students or graduates from technical colleges are preferred.
• Experience: No prior experience is necessary, though familiarity with farm machinery or technical equipment is a plus.
