The Department of Surgery provides comprehensive and sub-specialty care in the areas of Cardiothoracic Surgery, Dental-Oral, Maxillo-facial Surgery, General Surgery, Breast Surgery, Neurosurgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, Pediatric Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Urology and Vascular Surgery.

This is a grant funded contractual position.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible to:

collect and store samples following a strict operating protocol
perform DNA microbiome sequencing analysis on the samples collected
administer a preformed questionnaire before the sample collection
data collection, management and analysis
oversee study documentation to ensure all regulatory information is accurately collected and filed in an easily accessible format
complete and send fortnightly/monthly reports to their research supervisors and OARS.

Requirements

You should have:

a bachelor's degree in the field of Microbiology or related field of research
experience in research laboratory is plus point, post qualification
proficiency in basic laboratory skills
basic knowledge of the standard operating protocols of collecting and storing samples
ability to read, write and communicate effectively and clearly in English and Urdu (Sindhi preferred but not required)
strong organizational skills with ability to handle multiple tasks assigned by the faculty
competency in computer usage with command over Microsoft office, statistical and imaging software
strong interpersonal skills.
