POSITION SUMMARY:

TMMG is seeking a full-time Engineering Change/Production Planner responsible for reviewing and analyzing electrical engineering change drawings and documents prior to issuance to vessel production personnel. Determine material, manpower, equipment, and schedule impacts on the construction of the marine vessel(s) to appropriately incorporate changes into the overall ship construction planning and execution processes for the Discipline/ Craft assigned
POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Regular attendance at work and the ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
  • Serve as the Planning Team’s subject matter expert for electrical engineering changes.
  • Check compliance with government regulations and perform any data analysis relevant to ship-installed equipment.
  • Review and analyze electrical system engineering documents, diagrams, and analysis to determine issues or impacts to production and material planning.
  • Responsible for reviewing engineering information using Auto CAD and function with other engineering tools including FORAN and SHIPCONSTRUCTOR 3D modeling software, undertaking work under the supervision and instructions of Program Management and Planning Management using requirements documents, ship specifications, shipyard standards, and regulatory body requirements.
  • Coordinate with project stakeholders to ensure quality deliverables are submitted in accordance with the contract requirements.
  • Assist with construction planning support activities.
  • Facilitate communications of issues and solutions within the assigned department.
  • Interpret contract requirements.
  • Prepare, check, and issue professional quality deliverables.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education/Certification Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree/6 years of relevant shipyard production experience is preferred.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering documents and professional papers such as drawing and modeling outputs and general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from senior management, employees, and the public. Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form.
  • Proficiency in FORAN or similar software such as AVEVA, NUPAS CADMATIC, Ship Constructor, or similar CAD/CAM software.
  • Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, display attention to detail, and function as a team player.
  • Familiarity with the engineering and design process of marine vessels. Familiarity with typical Regulatory Body Requirements associated with the shipbuilding industry (i.e., ABS, 46 CFR, IEEE, and The US Coast Guard) is desired.
  • Company Background Investigation upon hire
  • Secret security clearance not required (desired but not required)
  • Climb tall ladders, crawl tanks/bilges in confined spaces, inspect from aerial lifts, and work in adverse environments for long periods. Periodically lift-up to 50 pounds and be able to walk to/from job sites.

SKILLS:

• Intermediate to advanced proficiency level of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Power Point. Ability to rapidly obtain, sort, filter, and analyze large volumes of data for distillation into high-level reports. Requires excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from senior management, employees, government officials, and the public exercising diplomacy and tact.
