About This Role and About You
The Category Sourcing Lead is a member of the Corporate Procurement team who oversees the procurement responsibilities of certain categories which are utilized across the Chemtrade business portfolio. In this position, the Category Sourcing Lead will act as the subject matter expert for the assigned categories utilizing strategic sourcing methods to ensure continuous supply is obtained at the lowest possible cost and minimal risk. This role also provides the opportunity to support evolving Procurement Excellence activities including cost improvement and supplier relationship management. Cross-functional engagement and collaboration with business unit stakeholders is essential to the success of this role, ensuring alignment to the broader corporate and business unit objectives.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferably in business. or related area. Experience minimum 5 years in purchasing/supply chain and/or commercial background. Experience in industrial or chemical/commodity background a plus
  • Demonstration of good communication & negotiation skills
  • Analytical skills required
  • Ability to influence and collaborate, bringing people together to share ideas and issues.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to identify and focus on key issues.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks, deal with ambiguity and drive towards deadlines.
  • Self-starter, able to drive multiple works to conclusion efficiently while working effectively with a variety of people at various levels within the company.
  • Experience with SAP/ERP system is preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Lead negotiations for assigned categories to achieve lowest total cost of ownership while securing supply and mitigating risk.
  • Identify risks which could negatively impact Chemtrade from achieving the identified objectives. Identify and quality new sources to ensure uninterrupted supply.
  • Ensure supplier relationships are established, managed, and continue to evolve in the most optimal manner. Focal point for Chemtrade in the supplier relationship for assigned categories.
  • Develop, lead, and implement cost improvement opportunities for assigned categories in accordance with Chemtrade’s Productivity program and in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
  • Secure and review market intelligence to gain an understanding of industry trends to make educated recommendations about supply plans, cost projections, and risk management.
  • Support the Corporate Procurement’s continued evolution include contributing to meeting the functional’s KPI metrics.
