QEO Insurance Group is seeking a TEMPORARY FLORIDS BASED legal assistant WHO WILL WORK 100% REMOTELY to assist one attorney. All cases involve the defense of personal injury cases and the candidate for this job must already be proficient in scheduling hearings, submitting documents to various courts and scheduling mediations and depositions. 5+ years of insurance defense work is required. Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook as well as the basic rules of Florida Civil Procedure is required including how to calendar responses to various motions and discovery deadlines. This is not a paralegal position. This position consists of scheduling, calendaring, setting up client meetings, mediations, depositions, etc.
The candidate must reside anywhere in Florida and will work with one attorney and one paralegal and must also be able to:
- Organize and maintain legal files and documents
- Perform data entry tasks to update and manage case information
- Utilize document management systems to store and retrieve files
- Assist with proofreading legal documents for accuracy and completeness
- Provide administrative support to attorneys, including scheduling appointments and managing calendars
- Prepare legal correspondence and basic legal documents
- Answer phone calls and direct inquiries to the appropriate personnel
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an insurance defense legal assistant
- Proficient in using document management systems and other legal software
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation and proofreading
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of phone etiquette and professional demeanor
- Familiarity with contracts and legal terminology is preferred
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
