Job Summary:
A Laboratory Supervisor's role is not only to function as a Medical Technologist but to provide leadership, serving as a role model and mentor. Laboratory results aid clinical practitioners in confirming or ruling out diagnoses, monitoring chronic disease states, and analyzing the effects of medical therapies.

Essential Core Functions:

Utilizes expertise in laboratory science to perform the most advanced clinical testing in compliance with Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA '88) standards, ensuring safe and effective patient care.
Consistently adheres to strict safety and infection control protocols and fosters customer service skills in interactions with both internal and external stakeholders. Actively participates in Quality Improvement initiatives as assigned and seeks opportunities to reduce costs without compromising patient safety, care quality, or service delivery.
Follows established procedures for reporting significant medical errors or unanticipated outcomes that result in patient harm, using the occurrence reporting system to flag potential safety concerns. Demonstrates proficiency in the Laboratory Information System and completes all required education and training.
Leverages the Performance Improvement Plan to enhance patient safety, while maintaining regular, punctual, and dependable attendance. Accepts 'on-call' responsibilities as needed and ensures the thorough orientation of new staff members.
Assumes authority, accountability, and responsibility, contributing to cross-organizational activities, formulating and reviewing departmental policies, and anticipating the needs of the department. Other duties as assigned

What qualifications you will need:

3 years of Acute Care MT experience Required
Medical Laboratory Technologist (MT)
Bachelor's Degree
Florida Licensure as Clinical Laboratory Supervisor
