Survey Crew Chief

A land surveying firm with offices in Panama City and Bristol (Florida) serving Panama City, Bristol & surrounding areas has openings for Survey Crew Chiefs with 5 or more years of experience in a Crew Chief position.
Rate of pay commiserate with experience. Reliable transportation and a drivers license are a plus. We are currently working 4 ten-hour days per week: Monday thru Thursday. Work on Fridays or the weekend may occasionally be required.
With guidance from the supervisor, operates the more complex technical survey instruments to obtain data pertaining to area measurements for use in boundary, topographic, land development and construction surveys.
JOB DUTIES

Perform multiple survey activities with minimal or no supervision
Operates the more complex surveying instruments and performs survey calculations related to the operation of those instruments.
Sets up and has the ability to operate all instrumentation typical on a field data collection crew to include electronic total stations, electronic levels, and other equipment as needed.
Maintains thorough familiarity with the operating procedures of field data collection equipment and procedures.
Compiles field notes, sketches and records of data obtained and work performed.
Exercises supervision over other crew members in connection with the field work and the maintenance and safekeeping of field equipment and survey vehicles, in the absence or at the request of the supervisor.
Assumes responsibility for the maintenance, checking and handling of surveying instruments.
Performs such other duties as the Supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.

Pay: $16.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 45 per week
Schedule:

10 hour shift
Weekends as needed

Land surveying: 5 years (Required)

Ability to Relocate:

Panama City, FL 32401: Relocate before starting work (Required)
