Growth Marketing Manager (E-Commerce)

Job Overview:
After a successful Kickstarter launch, VRSN is seeking a Growth Marketing Lead to launch our Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) channel and help lead the next chapter of our growth. If you thrive in dynamic environments and have a passion for innovative lifestyle products, this could be the perfect role.
We’re looking for someone both creative and analytical, with proven expertise in CRO, growth funnels, Meta growth, and a solid understanding of influencer marketing. If you’re process-driven and excel at iterative testing to drive sustainable growth, we want to hear from you. This position offers considerable upside and autonomy for the right candidate to make a lasting impact.
Key Responsibilities
Note: We don’t expect you to be an expert at all of these tasks—you’ll have support and access to additional resources. However, certain areas where excellence is required are highlighted as top priorities.
Top Priorities: Pre-Launch:
  • Define Channel Strategy (Priority):
  • Prioritize key marketing channels (e.g., Meta, Influencer).
  • Define success metrics, create a playbook, and build a testing calendar.
  • Build Core Site (Priority):
  • Oversee the strategy, wireframes, and mockups.
  • Manage the technical build, ensure copy and creative assets are aligned with the brand, and conduct testing and QA.
  • Ensure all technical integrations ("hook up pipes").
  • Build Growth Funnels (Priority):
  • Develop landing pages, advertorials, and assets to test various growth funnels beyond the core site.
  • Build Growth Creative (Priority):
  • Create the initial set of growth ads and creative assets for early-stage campaigns.
Other Responsibilities: Pre-Launch:
  • Establish Positioning: Source feedback, perform research, test hypotheses, and finalize initial brand positioning.
  • Build CRM: Set up core workflows, campaigns, and templates for email and text marketing.
  • Build Organic/Social: Define and develop organic and social strategies (TBD).
  • Build Reporting Tools: Develop a reporting stack to monitor and track performance across marketing channels.
  • Other Projects: Assist with additional initiatives that support overall growth.
Post-Launch (Live):
  • Run Marketing Channels:
  • Paid: Manage key paid channels, likely Meta and Influencer marketing.
  • CRM: Oversee email and text marketing.
  • Organic / Social: Oversee organic and social growth initiatives.
Key Qualifications:
Must Haves:
  • D2C Growth Expertise: Proven experience driving growth for Shopify-based D2C brands.
  • Early-Stage Experience: Direct involvement in early-stage marketing—helping a company scale from the ground up through initial testing and growth strategies.
  • Channel Expertise: Strong experience with Meta (Facebook/Instagram) is a must: Influencer (via Tik Tok/YT/IG) is *very* strongly preferred but not required.
  • Shopify Proficiency: Expertise in Shopify and its optimization for sales and conversions, including managing effective e Commerce sites and landing pages.
  • Creative + Analytical Balance: Ability to combine creative strategies with data-driven decision-making, refining campaigns for measurable success.
  • Testing & Iteration: Experience running structured marketing tests, learning from results, and continuously optimizing strategies.
  • Process-Oriented: Ability to manage multiple campaigns while maintaining rigorous processes for tracking and testing.
  • Relevant Product Experience: Experience marketing non-recurring products with a price point similar to ours (e.g., shoes or fashion items, AOV $150 or below).
Strongly Preferred:
  • U.S. Market Expertise: Significant experience selling into the U.S. market, with a strong grasp of its competitive landscape.
  • International Experience: Knowledge of selling internationally, particularly in Asia, with experience in distribution from this region (e.g., Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines).
  • Startup Experience: Proven success in fast-paced, resource-constrained startup environments, where you played a hands-on role in growth.
  • Full-Funnel Marketing: Ownership of marketing from creative development to CRM and email campaigns.
  • Process Discipline: A structured, data-driven approach to testing and optimization.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable with ambiguity and evolving responsibilities in a startup setting.
Big Plus:
  • Product Experience: Experience with similar products like footwear or non-recurring items.
  • CRM Management: Familiarity with managing CRM tools for retention and engagement.
  • Influencer & Tik Tok Shop: Success using Tik Tok Shop and Influencer marketing to drive growth.
  • Geographic Flexibility: Preference for candidates based in Asia (Hong Kong, Philippines), but open to the right fit globally.
