The role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our fun and growing business within Javelin’s Accounting team reporting into the Head of Accounting. This is a team of ten employees who form part of the wider Finance department that includes Tax and Trade Finance, all reporting into the CFO. There will be regular interaction with Trading, Technology, Legal, Logistics and Settlements teams. This is a great role for an individual who is an experienced Corporate Accountant and interested in owning the Polish entity accounting function at Javelin.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Accounting for newly incorporated Polish entity
- Ownership of the annual statutory audit process
- Liaise with third party consultants in relation to financial reporting and tax filings
- Preparation of standard and ad hoc financial reports and analysis for senior executives, stakeholders and board members to inform and aid decision making
- Participation in key finance change projects and identifying any process improvements to drive efficiency and effectiveness of the team
Skills and Experience Required:
- Qualified (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) chartered accountant
- Experience of working within Financial Services
- Commodities experience is desirable but not essential
- Excellent team player who demonstrates a collaborative approach
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in both English and Polish
- A self-starter who is capable of using their initiative to anticipate the information needs of the business
- Systematic approach in analysing and solving problems with good attention to detail
- Good at meeting deadlines and solving problems with a collaborative approach
