About the Team
At Tik Tok, our commitment to fostering a safe and sustainable workplace transcends borders.
We are looking for a candidate to join Tik Tok’s H&S service in Poland. The candidate must meet the requirements set forth by Polish law for the role of a Senior H&S Inspector (starszy inspektorem do spraw bezpieczeństwa i higieny pracy) or higher. The candidate will become responsible for fulfilling the responsibilities of the H&S services as required by law.
The EHS team has team members strategically placed in London, the USA, Singapore, and China. This team collaboratively applies our company values to every aspect of their work, ensuring a consistent dedication to the highest industry standards and best practices.
Beyond compliance, the EHS team promotes a safety culture across all Tik Tok offices and Byte Dance Operations. By instilling awareness, education, and proactive measures, we empower our teams to contribute to a workplace where safety is not just a priority but an integral part of our shared culture.
The ideal candidate will implement and maintain health and safety protocols in Poland, ensuring legislation compliance and supporting the EHS operations and activities across the EMEA region. This role requires the ability to perform in a fast-paced environment, to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously, and to have strong technological proficiency.

Responsibilities
This candidate will be responsible for fulfilling responsibilities of the EHS service determined in the Regulation of the Council of Ministers of 2 September 1997 on health and safety service, including amongst others:
- Inspection of working conditions and compliance with EHS regulations and principles.
- Keeping the employer informed about identified occupational hazards.
- Preparing and presenting to the employer periodic analyses of the state of EHS.
- Presenting the employer with proposals regarding compliance with ergonomic requirements at work stations.
- Participation in the development of company collective labor agreements, internal orders, regulations and general instructions regarding occupational health and safety and in determining the tasks of persons managing employees in the field of occupational health and safety.
- Giving opinions on detailed instructions regarding occupational health and safety at individual workstations.
- Participation in determining the circumstances and causes of accidents at work.
- Participation in assessing the occupational risk associated with the work performed.
- Participating in consultations on occupational health and safety, as well as in the work of occupational health and safety committees and other company committees dealing with occupational health and safety issues, including the prevention of occupational diseases and accidents at work.
- Support Byte Dance EMEA EHS Operations as required, including Real Estate Projects, incident response, policy and process development and compliance audit programming.
- Provide competent Health & Safety support to Byte Dance EMEA stakeholders (Admin, Facilities, Security, HR, Business Leaders, Legal).
- Undertake and review risk assessments for routine and non-routine activities.
- Manage and drive continuous improvement to the Poland and EMEA-wide EHS program.
- Review safety plans for emergencies, special events and other unique safety situations.
- Manage and investigate incidents and injury claims and drive corrective actions to prevent reoccurrences.
- Liaise and report to authorities as necessary.
- Collaborate with the Works Council and lead the H&S Committee.
- Design and deliver mandatory H&S training for new starters.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
This candidate must meet the qualifications set forth by the Regulation of the Council of Ministers of 2 September 1997 on health and safety service for the role of a Senior H&S Inspector or higher:
- Academic or Postgraduate Education in Occupational Health and Safety acquired in Poland. The title of Occupational Health and Safety Technician and at least 3 years work experience in the Occupational Health and Safety service.
- Alternatively, higher education in a field or specialty in the field of Occupational Health and Safety or Postgraduate studies in the field of Occupational Health and Safety.
- +/- 4 years in Occupational Health & Safety.
- Fluency in Polish and English.
- Good knowledge of the Polish Labour Code, EHS regulations and best EHS practices.
- Additional health and safety experience across the wider EMEA region is beneficial.
- Proven expertise in designing and implementing comprehensive EHS safety programs, processes, and procedures.
- Considerable knowledge of safety and health regulatory laws and practices related to accidents, incident investigations, and reporting.
- Ability to interact effectively and cultivate strong relationships with peers, key stakeholders, and business leaders.
- Strong project management skills with experience of managing complex EHS projects with the involvement of multiple internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Note: This role will require the development of policies, procedures and other documents as required to be developed to a high standard in English.
- Strong capability of using IT tools.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Additional health and safety experience across the wider EMEA region is beneficial, if the candidate is willing to additionally take the part-time role and support Tik Tok EMEA EHS team.
