Data Strategy, Governance and Management Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role you will be responsible for implementing data governance and data quality measurements in ABB Motion Services (MOSE), ensuring communication and alignment with stakeholders, training to needed tools. Also, you will collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to establish data governance. The work model for the role is: hybrid #LI-hybrid This role is open globally, but location is set in ABB offices in Helsinki (Finland) or Krakow (Poland). You will be accountable for: Define and implement data governance (roles, policies and processes) to ensure consistency of data, fast decision making and data availability based on the defined data rules. Develop and enforce data quality rules and KPIs, in collaboration with business owners. Define and validate end-to-end data flows, while proposing changes to optimize data flows/processes. Establish the structure in data catalog and lead the initiative to enable creation and maintenance of data catalog to enhance understanding across the organisation. Define data classifications based on sensitivity, business related etc based on needs, both from a definition perspective as part of data catalog as well as how these classifications are taken to data storage and usage. Develop reports and metrics for data governance as needed. Support data compliance activities, ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory requirements (GDPR, CCPA, EU Data act and more).

Qualifications for the role

• Bachelor's or higher degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science or similar
• 10+ years of overall experience with at least 5 years experience in data management, preferably the majority of experience in a large organization
• Proficient in data management topics (data governance, data quality management, data catalog) and knowledge of data catalogs and data governance principles
• Knowledge of data landscapes, data platforms and data analysis
• Knowledge of data architecture and ability for close/daily collaboration with IT architects and data managers
• Ability to interpret and analyze complex data
• Certification in data governance or data management (e.g. CDMP, DGSP) are considered as a plus
• Excellent collaboration skills, clear expression of thoughts, ability to create clear direction and documentation as and when needed.
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Professional communication skills in oral and written English.
• Self motivated and is able to work independently when needed
