Program Summary
KBR leads the government services world contingency market by providing responsive, full-service logistics support to forces deployed around the world under the Logistics Civil Augmentation Program contract (LOGCAP). KBR’s enduring mission support of the LOGCAP program dates back to 1992 when we served as the contract’s original prime contractor. Today, we have a workforce of over 6,000 people representing 40 nationalities who perform work on the contract in 10 countries.
Job Summary
As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will report to and receive assignments from the Foreman or General Foreman and be responsible for operating designated heavy machinery or equipment.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment in multiple environments.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on heavy equipment and report any issues to the supervisor.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate workflow.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Follow the directions given by ground guides.
- Continuously analyze the work environment for hazards and stop operations, if required, to correct hazards.
- Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications (Required Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 2 years of experience operating heavy equipment.
- Must have a verifiable heavy equipment operator’s certification or license.
- Requires proficiency in the operation of heavy equipment, such as Graders, Rollers, Dozers and 8K-30K Forklifts.
- Requires a strong understanding of and adherence to safety procedures, protocols, and guidelines for heavy equipment operation.
- Must have excellent communication skills.
- Must be able to lift heavy objects up to 70 pounds on a frequent basis.
- Must be able to lift, crouch, bend, reach and climb in all weather conditions.
- Requires a valid passport with at least 12 months of validity and 6 blank pages.
Preferred Qualifications (Preferred Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)
- Additional certifications related to specific types of heavy equipment.
