Our Linux Performance team is a specialized group that improves performance and efficiency of Akamai's Intelligent Platform. Our Linux Engineering team provides the Linux kernel and operating system innovation for the Akamai global distributed network (300,000+ servers deployed in 1000+ networks and 100+ countries).
Partner with the best
You will work closely with engineers to develop tests. You will own test suites and an automated testing framework for evaluating performance of Akamai's core infrastructure components. You must have a passion to get things done quickly and get them done right.
As a Software Development Engineer in Test Principal, you will be responsible for:

• Building and owning our performance testing framework
• Collaborating closely with Linux Performance team developers, as well as other development and test teams
• Designing, developing, and executing performance tests and evaluating their results
• Creating, extending, and executing functional and regression tests for performance analysis tools (Ex: Linux perf, bcc tools.)
• Collecting performance data from production systems to help identify opportunities for optimizations

Do what you love
To be successful in this role you will:

• Possess substantial experience with creating, executing, debugging functional, regression, performance, and stress tests and analyzing test results
• Have experience building or running an automated performance testing framework
• Have a solid understanding of Linux and OS fundamentals, including networking protocols
• Have experience with virtualization technologies (Qemu, KVM, Xen, etc)
• Be proficient in scripting (Perl/Python/Bash) and test automation (e.g. Jenkins CI)
• Be a motivated self-starter who enjoys collaborating with a globally-distributed team but is capable of working independently
