Commercial Analytics Manager

WHAT YOU WILL DO

The Commercial Analytics team at Amgen plays a pivotal role as a strategic partner to Commercial leadership, offering data-backed insights crucial for driving commercial success. As a Commercial Analytics Manager, you will lead insights generation by integrating multitude of secondary data sources and engaging several Commercial Data and Analytics (CD&A) colleagues to develop a comprehensive understanding of brand performance and provide tactical recommendations to drive it.

You, as our Commercial Analytics Manager, plays a pivotal role as a strategic partner to Commercial leadership, offering data-backed insights crucial for driving commercial success and stakeholder management. You will contribute to the global inline/pipeline assets, executing and managing discussions with global brand leads.

Responsibilities will include:
  • Design approach and lead secondary data analytics to support strategic decision-making.
  • Lead analytical execution by implementing solutions, ensuring progress per timelines and scope, and coordinating readout of results.
  • Act as a strategic partner, fostering strong relationships with global brand leads and key stakeholders.
  • Work cross-functionally to synthesize findings, develop recommendations and articulate actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Provide senior leadership and brand teams with an objective and rigorous perspective on secondary data analytics and performance management.
  • Develop and deliver analysis using complex data sources including HCP and Account-level Demand data, Claims data, Electronic Medical Records data, Specialty Pharmacy data, etc. to generate a holistic, objective, and detailed understanding of the brand.
  • Manage relationship with external vendors to prioritize business needs and enable effective execution of analytics.
  • Enhance the capabilities of the CD&A team by researching and implementing new analytical tools, methodologies, internal and external best practices, new data sources, etc.
  • Collaborate with the broader CD&A organization to integrate comprehensive insights and analytics.

WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU

Our ideal candidate is a team player with customer focus. He/she is problem solving and result oriented and has time and process management skills and can compile data.

Proven experience and skills needed:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Pharma/Biotech sales & marketing operations, finance and/or analytics and reporting experience
  • OR Master’s degree and 5 years of sales & marketing operations, finance and/or analytics experience
  • OR Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of analytics sales & marketing operations, finance and/or analytics experience
  • University Degree in commerce, finance, economics, mathematics, healthcare or related field.
  • Fluency in English, both in written and oral communication.
  • Strong Excel and Power Point knowledge

Preferred Requirements:
  • Familiarity with technologies and applications, and hands-on experience to analyze, synthesize, and integrate various secondary data
  • Strong knowledge in data, analytics, research, and/or dashboarding & reporting approach
  • Capable to identify & define business problem, and address through data, analytics, and research
  • Proficient analysis and project management skills to turn unstructured business issues into action plans that result in meaningful strategic or tactical recommendations
  • Ability to drive implementation to enhance methodologies and standard processes
  • Strong oral and written presentation skills, with ability to explain complex concepts verbally or visually via Power Point
  • Consistently engage and collaborate effectively with cross-functional team to shape brand strategy and understand risks and opportunities
  • Manager experience leading a team of analysts in a data driven environment.
  • Demonstrates a service-minded attitude.
