As the Managing Director Portugal, you will be responsible for driving the country strategy and empowering our talented teams to ensure access to our innovative products. Reporting to the Executive Director, Managing Director Iberia, you will work closely with the Iberia Leadership Team to align business strategies and achieve our objectives.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the spokesperson for our company, effectively communicating on behalf of the organization and engaging with external stakeholders to shape market environments.
• Develop meaningful insights about market environments and business drivers, formulate strategies, and plan to maximize business performance.
• Ensure successful execution of short to long-term commercial plans, strategies, financials, and budgets.
• Align cross-functional teams around strategic objectives that deliver business outcomes reflecting the local market environment.
• Translate strategic priorities into actionable plans with clear accountability for delivering outcomes.
• Achieve or exceed financial, operational, and human resource objectives through effective leadership, management, and development of colleagues.
• Partner with global and regional leaders, maintaining regular communications to ensure objectives are met.
• Maintain high customer-centricity, liaising with major customers and building strong relationships.
• Build and lead effective teams, maximizing cross-border services and solutions.
• Role model our company values and standards, ensuring compliance across all functions and levels.
• Advocate for diversity and inclusion and create an inclusive work environment.
• Identify, attract, develop, and retain diverse talent, focusing on coaching and growth of leaders.

Requirements:

• Proven track record in the pharmaceutical industry, including managing a P&L for a business or function.
• Demonstrated success in people management, recruiting, developing, and retaining diverse talent.
• Experience as a spokesperson/representative for an organization.
• General management experience is an asset.
• Strong leadership skills, building and leading high-performing teams across different backgrounds.
• Ability to influence and manage in a matrix organization.
• Deep understanding of the animal health industry, market trends, and business environment.
• Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Cultural sensitivity and ability to work at all organizational levels.
• Drive and energy to accelerate growth aligned with regional objectives.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in English and Portuguese. Spanish language skills are an asset.
• Knowledge and experience in One Health.
• Approximately 50% travel across the cluster.
• Degree in Health Sciences/Veterinary Science preferred, with postgraduate business study (e.g., MBA).
