Hy Lab’s final goal is to create a worldwide reference Research, Development and Innovation (R&D+I) cluster with a strategic agenda focused on strengthening hydrogen competitiveness and creation of new products and services. Moreover, the Hy Lab will foster innovation, addressing the relevant supply chain components to enable a hydrogen-driven economy and to promote skilled and value-added job creation.
It targets a gap between the academia and industrial ecosystems in the implementation of green hydrogen to boost the energy transition and to tackle the energy transition challenges, through
the entire hydrogen value chain.
The Hy Lab involves valuable national and international R&D institutes, academia, industry companies, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), start-ups, and hydrogen-related technology manufacturing industries.
We are looking for a Researcher Chemical Processes who will report to the Lead Research on Separation Processes and will have the mission to Develop applied research and innovation activities in Chemical Process Engineering, namely on hydrogen purification and on the synthesis of hydrogen carriers.
You will be challenged with:

Designing and validating separation/purification processes for hydrogen purification and transformative processes for hydrogen carrier production.
Collaborating on R&D projects, particularly those aligned with the Mobilizing Agendas of the Recovery and Resilience Plan, focusing on Chemical Process Engineering.
Cooperating with project partners to ensure technical deliverables and the preparation of related project reports.
Providing specialized services to industry customers and partners.
Engaging in activities to disseminate scientific knowledge through writing scientific articles, conference papers, and communications.

Who are we looking for:

Master’s degree in chemical engineering or a related field.
Experience in designing chemical processes for purifying gaseous streams (e.g., pressure swing adsorption) and/or converting hydrogen into liquid carriers (e.g., ammonia).
Experimental background in separation/reaction processes.
Proficiency in chemical process simulation software (e.g., g PROMS, Aspen).
Strong programming skills in Python and MATLAB are advantageous.
Proficiency level in English C1.
