Staff Accountant - Portugal (Remote from Portugal)

What you will do:
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
Remote Location: This position allows you to work from any location with a stable internet connection. You will need to provide your own suitable workspace and internet access. Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading. Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards.
Work Hours: While there is flexibility in work hours, you will be expected to maintain regular availability during designated core hours for collaboration, meetings, and communication with the team. Outside of core hours, you can schedule your work to accommodate personal commitments or preferences, as long as it does not compromise project deadlines or team collaboration.
Equipment and Expenses: You will be responsible for maintaining a company computer, internet connection, and other necessary equipment. Any work-related expenses will be discussed and agreed upon in advance with the company.

The total pay is between 20,000 EUR - 30,000 EUR Gross salary, and is dependent upon location, experience, skills, and training.

What you will do:

Perform monthly close activities including preparation of journal entries, maintaining account reconciliations and monthly flux analysis
-
Assist in reconciling subledger to general ledger account balances
-
Prepare support for quarterly and annual audits, including compilation and preparation of detailed schedules, back-up supports for initial and follow up requests and financial reports
-
Assets management; Intercompany accounting.

Handling external and internal queries via email / phone.

Identify and calculate provisions and exceptions to standard bookings;

Assist in developing and documenting business processes, procedures, checklists, and policies
-
Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, majoring in Accounting, Finance or a related field
-
3 to 5 years of combined experience in accounting and GL close process
-
Strong understanding of local GAAP accounting and financial/operational understanding, US GAAP is a plus
-
Knowledge and experience working with Oracle ERP is highly desired
-
Highly developed knowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel

Developing professional expertise, applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues.

Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Builds productive internal/external working relationships.
