Job Overview
As a System Administrator specializing in virtualization, storage, and backups, you will be a key member of our system administration team supporting a client of Axians Portugal. Your role will focus on managing and troubleshooting infrastructure environments related to virtualization, storage solutions, and backup systems. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of these critical systems.
Responsibilities and Duties

• System Administration: Administer and maintain virtualization environments using VMware and Oracle VM, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
• Storage Management: Manage and support storage solutions, including Dell Storage systems, ensuring data integrity and availability.
• Backup Administration: Oversee and manage backup systems using Avamar, ensuring regular and reliable backups of critical data.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues related to virtualization, storage, and backup systems, minimizing downtime and ensuring continuous service availability.
• Data Center Operations: Perform data center operations and maintenance tasks, including system updates, patching, and hardware management.
• Out-of-Hours Support: Be available for scheduled maintenance and preventive tasks outside of standard working hours.
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other IT teams and stakeholders to address issues, plan upgrades, and implement improvements.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Experience:
• At least 5 years of experience as a system administrator in medium to large organizations, with a strong background in data center operations.
• Proven experience in administering virtualization technologies (VMware, Oracle VM), storage solutions (Dell Storage), backup systems (Avamar), and networking (Brocade).
• Availability: Willingness to work outside of standard hours for scheduled maintenance and preventive measures.
• Technical Skills:
• Solid and demonstrable knowledge of VMware and Oracle VM for virtualization.
• Hands-on experience with Dell Storage systems.
• Proficiency with Avamar for backup management.
• Familiarity with Brocade networking equipment.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Certifications: Relevant certifications in applicable technologies are highly valued.
